Hi Matt,

Sorry -- I *did* check it out when you posted, and I appreciate you posting
it.

I think you experienced what *many* of us have experienced: we post things
we think important and receive little or no feedback. I've heard this
comment/concern from several V2020 participants. Looking back at things
I've posted over the past couple/few years (mental health parity; lack of UI
data security & identity theft; the Internet & child safety; food safety;
the erosion of health benefits for UI employees & retirees; animal welfare;
the plight of those who serve our country & their families compared to how
much we spend on defense, to name just a few), I could certainly be very
disheartened over the lack of response here on the Viz to these issues that
are very near & dear to my heart.

I specifically recall being absolutely flabbergasted that there was not a
single comment pro or con over an article Mark Solomon posted about food
safety:
http://mailman.fsr.com/pipermail/vision2020/2006-September/035634.html

Rather than assuming the worst, I choose instead to try to think that while
*some* people might not care or read, others do even if they don't respond.
Maybe they wrote a letter/email and sent it; maybe they just learned
something. In any case, the sharing of information is a Good, IMHO, whether
there's any response or not.

All,

I find it a little bit disturbing that I sent this post out about a week ago
and only one person made a comment. Here we have a Moscow man who has been
honored, and yet no one cares? I did not said this out to promote yellow
ribbons. My purpose, was to salute Jesse and what him and others are doing.
Also to give a little topic break from church and politics talk.

Please if you have not yet, take a second out of your busy schedules and
check this out. It means more than you think to these warriors over seas,
that you think about them for one minute out of the day.

Thanks,
Matt
