Greetings:

Some people on this list would be great propagandists with their ability to distort the truth.

The people who are organizing a Yes vote for selling Latah Health Services(LHS) to Gritman had nothing to do with the tragic eviction of those in assisted living and skilled nursing. If the County Commissioners wanted these services to continue it should have run a bond issue in order to upgrade the facility and pay off LHS debts.

Now that county officials have failed its patrons, the only good option is for Gritman to take over the entire facility.

The critic this morning on our list ignores three facts:

1. Gritman is expanding its Adult Day Health program, which will pick up more people who otherwise would need assisted living.

2. Gritman currently has three operators in mind who might offer assisted living at the new facility.

3. Gritman is thinking of offering indigent health care at its new wellness center.

Finally, some of you may have seen the signs on Beebe's property urging people to vote No. On Friday the city attorney actually gave us permission to take them down because they were in the city's right-of-way. We decided against such a provocative action.

Those driving south out of Moscow will soon see a large sign on Gritman property informing them that the No signs have been put up by developers who want to raise LHS to the ground and put a new car dealership there.

We are confident that Latah County residents will vote for the Gritman Wellness Center for long term gains, rather than a quick profit for a facility that will ruin the l NW corner of 95 and Palouse River Drive.

Vote Yes on Monday at the Court House or vote Yes on Tuesday at the Kibbie Dome or Fair Grounds, depending on your precinct.

Nick Gier
