The city council refused to change the zoning for that property location when UI asked for it. HD WAS interested in that property, not anymore, because the city wanted them to spend millions more on the development of the roads, traffic patterns, etc. They aren't interested in doing all that. When a business has to remain in operation for 5 to 10 years at current costs before seeing $1 profit, doubling those costs makes putting a business in Moscow unattractive. It is not too hard of concept to understand.

However, they ARE interested in the property that UI is selling (located behind the Palouse Mall).

I don't see a Home Depot in Moscow, do you?

You must realize, J, that this is the same Shelly Bennett that started the
rumor that Home Depot was no longer interested in building a store in
Moscow.

Shelly Bennett says:
""Let your readers know that the proposed purchaser of the building
housing the Red Door restaurant, rumored to be Christ Church, is not,
and has no intention of closing down the much-loved Moscow eatery,"
Shelley said."
Who said Christ Church is buying that building much less that they would
close down the restaurant?
