Yes, this race was mentioned on the NPR OnPoint program Wednesday, 25 
October 2006 by an analyst who did not mention candidate names and could 
not remember the District number, but he (Walter Shapiro) did say that 
Idaho was the "redest of red states," and intimated that this race was 
actually competitive.

Staying at home this election is OK if one gets one's vote-by-mail ballot 
returned on time. Otherwise, I agree, getting to the polls this year is 
more important than it has been in quite a while.
