Gee, Beemer, you really have a grasp of the situation. Of all the local
entities who could put up signs promising "trespassers will be shot," the
school district and a large church would seem to be the most likely. Wow.
Maybe MSD could train the high school football team to execute some
vigilante justice on the perps, and then the church could conduct a damning
ceremony.
Complete with imprecatory prayers. If you're not entirely sure of the
sarcasm in the preceding paragraph, I'm sure you're quite familiar with
those.
So how about praying for the church and the district and the vandals? How
about praying for the police? Maybe you could contribute a small check to
either entity. Have your elders publicly condemn acts of vandalism -- even
against "government schools." Ask the newspaper to cover the vandalism more
comprehensively. In short, do something other than write pseudo-earnest
emails to people you find beneath you.

J Ford posts:
"The Moscow School District has suffered over $8000 worth of damage and
theft
over the past several weeks. The people doing this obviously know just what
they are doing and what they are looking for. As the MSD is really not in
the position to suffer too many hits like this, seems to me we need to be
more vigilant about watching our schools and reporting ANYthing that looks
out of place.
Unfortunately, the schools are not the only ones getting hit; Emmanuel
Lutheran has also been hit at least twice (religious persecution? Lord
knows, if it were another church in town, that is exactly what they'd be
yelling.)
Moscow is growing and not all in the ways I am sure people would like to
see. If this is the work of people looking for a thrill, might I suggest
getting a job? If this is the work of people looking to score a quick buck
for drugs, we have several treatment centers in the area that would be more
than willing to assist in that area.
The thing is that whenever this type of thing happens, we all pay the price
in the way of insurance hikes, replacement costs, sense of loss of security,
etc.
Whatever the cause or whomever the perps are, we all have an obligation to
help protect this City and its assets. The police could really use
everyone's help."
I SAY:
While your idea of better informing the police may be noble, we all know
that flooding the police department with calls of supposed suspicious
activity gets taken to far. People suffer from a paranoia that results in
calling the police everytime there is a possible party or person standing to
close to our mailbox. Maybe we should just put some signs up that say
trespassers will be shot?
Perhaps a better idea is that now that the police are aware of the
situation, they do their job and patrol that area a little more!?
Just a thought!
