I believe you're referring to the advisory vote that asks the electorate to
reaffirm (or not) Risch's and the legislature's decision in August to revoke
the .003 (we school people call it the "three mils") property tax support
basis for public education funding. I am voting no, and the Idaho School
Boards Association and virtually all other statewide education groups are
urging a "no" as well, because doing away with the three mils and switching
instead to sales tax revenues as the basis for school funding is dangerous
and puts schools in a less-secure funding position.
It is just an advisory vote, not binding, but an important one.
