reflected an attitude of self-righteous intolerance. 

If patriotism in your world is measured by a willingness to get in line and
follow the crowd, no questions asked, you must be a patriot, ToeKnee.  Lack
of the proverbial backbone is characteristic of a lemming.

A person must question authority if (s)he, by his/her own convictions, finds
wrong within that autority.

As William Henley stated in "Invictus":

You may now return to your Pavlovian lifestyle, ToeKnee.
