Tom, there were discussions about 25-30 years ago between the Quad Cities
for a regional international airport. The location was somewhere between
Uniontown-Genesee just north of the valley. No one wanted to give up
turf. Incidentally, when a group went back to bid on Lake Aircraft, the
Lewiston folks went into overdrive to land the business. Their report on
the weather at Lewiston showed the airport to be the least weathered out
for eastern Wn and north Id. Bob Tippet had prepared a great relocation
package for the company. The auction was called by the owner since the
owner would not sell the company, its assets, and intellectual property
below $3,000,000.

It seems to me that our area could do much better by working together and
focusing on prosperity, especially for UI. Jerry
