Pastor of Moscow church arrested on child sex abuse charges

MOSCOW, Idaho - The pastor of a church in Moscow was arrested for allegedly 
sexually abusing a child over a period of several years during the 1980's in 
California.

Investigators say William Alan Malgren, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church 
in Moscow, repeatedly abused a student at Thousand Oaks Baptist School in 
California.  Malgren was the pastor at the church at the time.  They say he 
began sexually assaulting the girl when she was seven years old, and 
continued the abuse until the boy was 14.

Sheriff's investigators in Washington say Malgren has been involved with 
churches in California, Idaho, Washington and Iowa.  Because of his position 
of authority, investigators say they are concerned about the possibility of 
other unreported victims.  Malgren is currently being two separate child sex 
abuse charges, both of them related to the same victim.

Malgren is expected to waive extradition to California, and will likely be 
jailed in Ventura County, California within the next few days.
