[Vision2020] So Why Isn't the Record Straight

Doug Wilson begins his guest editorial in the Daily News with the statement:
"Here is my difficulty."     Doug reframes the issue by slyly ignoring the
authentic source of his difficulty, (his unflagging admiration of
Confederate slavery) and substitutes instead a discussion on the evils of
slavery in South America.  This is akin to arguing that living conditions
were better in Bergen Belsen than in Auschwitz.  Rational people don't have
that conversation.  

 

I offer the following path to Doug as a way out of his difficulty: publicly
denounce all slavery, issue an unequivocal statement that slavery, whether
in Brazil, the Confederacy, or Judea, was and is an undeniable evil, and was
never harmonious or beneficial to the slave.
