Me:

I'm fairly certain that Joe believes that all people are humans; the
question has been whether all humans are people if you recall.  I thought
Joe's point was a good one; I don't know why you would say this sounded
condescending.  I suspect that some of the saved money is spent elsewhere,
as in your case, but I do imagine a good portion would just go back into
greater consumption at the Mega store.  This seems like a reasonable
hypothesis anyway. But I'm no economist; if there be any lurking please
chime in..
