In that case, I would want to the government to chip in a large portion of
$$$, so I could get a Roll Royce Silver Ghost rather than a Kia Sephia.

Yet what if someone purchased the same $20 toaster each year (due to the
lesser quality compared to the $50 toaster)...I bet you didn't think of
that! I understand consumer choice can be a tricky one...lets make everyone
buy the $50 toaster so this travesty does not happen.
