Hi Dick,
 
I am glad that you don’t have anything against Gay people. As I promised, I will elaborate on my post where I mentioned the particular teaching of Jesus that goes something like…Judge not, yet you be judged. I am not particularly engrossed in religion but I do think that Jesus (Man or God) had the right ideas and was the one who brought hope to many people who were being persecuted during his time and continually through the present time.
 
This particular teaching deals directly with the anti-gay movement. Gays have been persecuted in this country. They have been harassed, beaten and killed by a collective that gets it jollies doing such things to people. In short the anti-Gay crowd has passed judgment on this group of fellow humans and has not been treating them as they themselves would like to be treated. Of course passing judgment on others and treating others worse than you would like to be treated are both contrary to the teachings of Jesus and so probably contrary to a good Christian life.
 
People who see this persecution of the Gays going on don’t like it Dick, and so they pass judgment on the people who are doing these things. However, they do not attack the people doing these things and beat them up nor tie them to a fence, they move to make legislation to control this group. Hate crimes come into existence because there is something especially heinous about singling out a group of individuals and misusing them simply because they are different from you. After that the right minded people decide that extra attention must be paid to educating children so that they will not be so hateful to people. So now the children learn that even Gay people are human and deserve to be treated just like they would like to be treated.
 
Can you see how this is a true life drama of Christ’s lesson. That’s what I’m talking about.
