Nick,
Referring to your sources as left wing was "name calling"? I thought it was
an accurate characterization, with the possible exception of The New
Republic. The A.P. has been a reliable mouthpiece for the left for decades with
snotty "analysis" masquerading as news. Look, Nick, I've been called every
conceivable name in the book over the years by liberals, including "Nazi". All
because I dared to stand up to them. As I pointed out in my first post here,
liberals are only tolerant as long as you agree with them. Their love of
"diversity" does not include a diversity of political views. My experience so
far on this forum has only reinforced that conclusion. As far as calling you
Anti American, it never happened. Reread the post, it specifically referred
to your SOURCES.
You scold that I still haven't responded to this and that statement of
yours. But you respond to only about half of the points I make. So what? We
have limited time, we respond to what particularly interests us or catches our
eye. This isn't the classroom where the professor puts all his notes on the
board while his students dutifully absorb it and regurgitate it back on demand.
You say Bush has done more to destroy America's reputation than ANY AMERICAN
you know. We are still recovering from eight years as the laughingstock of
the world thanks to Bill Clinton. He confirmed the impression many
foreigners have of Americans as vulgar hedonists.
You say that under Saddam Iraq was sophisticated. Tell it to the tens of
thousands of his fellow countrymen moldering in mass graves. Tell it to the
tens of thousands of woman abused and subjugated under his rule.
You say we are going to return Iraq to the dark ages. You must be referring
to free elections, democracy, the free flow of ideas and information? I am
sure terrorists the world over would be overjoyed if we summarily withdrew
from Iraq. That is why prudence dictates that we maintain some level of
presence there for the foreseeable future.
