I agree with Don on this one for sure.  While I was employed at a local 
business in Moscow, owned and operated by lifetime members of Moscow, there 
was a person that I worked with that purchased a whole pallet of a product 
that he thought we sold from WalMart.  This person made the assumption that 
the product was identical to what we sold and purchased an entire pallet 
based upon his assumption.  The reasoning behind the purchase was that 
WalMart was selling a product that our store also sold, but was selling the 
product way below our cost.  When everything settled down and the pallet of 
product was in our store, it was determined that the products purchased at 
WalMart were not in fact identical to the products available in our current 
inventory.  When my co-worker contacted the manufacturer about the 
descrepency, the manufacture said quite bluntly that everything they sell to 
WalMart is one of a kind, not available to anyone else in the world.  Now if 
this guy was telling the truth is beyond me, but the fact of the matter was 
simple, WalMart was selling a product packaged in identical packaging to 
someting that our store sold, yet the product contained within was 
completely different.

goods.
The items Walmart sells are not there same as the items other stores sell
under the same manufacturers name. Walmart uses its buying power to force 
its
suppliers to produce cheaper and shoddier goods under the same name. Take
Levi's  for example. The Levi's Walmart sells are not the same Levi's that
Tri-State  sells, but a lower quality. The fabric is lighter and the 
manufacture is
not the  same quality.
It strikes me that Walmart is to merchandising as Payday Loan places are to
banking; a way to cheat the poor and uninformed into paying HIGHER prices 
for
cheaper goods.
