John D. writes: "Here is another occasion where God lied, according to the Bible itself:
- God says Adam will die the day he eats of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17)
- Adam eats of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3:6)
- Adam lives to be 930 years (Genesis 5:5)"
This is not an example of God lying. Before Adam ate the forbidden fruit there was no death intended for man. God warned Adam if he ate the fruit he would be doomed to die, meaning he would, at some time, suffer the punishment of death.
Genesis 5:5 fulfilled God's warning on Adam.

No, not really. I'm curious to know how you can literally believe in a document that is not even internally consistent.
How do you explain the previously listed inconsistencies?
