[Vision2020] Liberal Moscow

Dear Visionaries:

Chasuk and I were going to make this announcement next week, when our 
new blog site was completely functional and lovely to behold.  However, 
in light of yesterday's 7-page fax threatening Kevin Owen of First Step 
with economic sanctions, I'll jump the gun and tell you all now -- 
Liberal Moscow, a lightly moderated community blog is now up and 
running at the following site:

You will need to subscribe as a user with http://wordpress.com to post. 
  By scrolling down the right-hand side of the page, you'll come a link 
that offers you the opportunity to create a username and password 
without creating your own blog.  You can do that, or you can create 
your own blog -- it's up to you.  Liberal Moscow is what the name 
suggests -- an online home for Moscow's liberals, progressives, 
democrats, and Democrats.  We also welcome libertarians, liberal and 
moderate and thoughtful conservatives, anarcho-syndicalists, 
socialists, independents, you name it.  We respectfully request that 
posts be limited to three per day, but we have no intention of 
functioning as the blog police.  We will approve or reject subscribers 
based on bad history, present lunacy, or a combination of both.

Liberal Moscow is NOT meant to supplant Vision 2020.  Our hope is that 
it will enhance the conversation over here.  (We're looking into an RSS 
feed to Vision 2020 or some option by which We want to talk about 
substantive issues that affect our town, our county, our state, and our 
world without the static that has come to dominate this list in recent 
months.  To that end, we will be bouncing Bozos.  We will not, however, 
be undemocratic in our approach.  If someone is bounced, that decision 
will be placed before the blog members and open for discussion.  We'll 
share with members our reasoning, and if we're found to be 
unreasonable, we'll reconsider and quite possibly reinstate.
