[Vision2020] The Kickball Cup

I should try going to M's nightgames. Maybe I would see some better M's baseball. However, since night and weekend games would interfere with higher priority activities (in my own personal opinion), I'm relegated to only being able to go to weekday daytime games which only interfere with my day job which is presently lowest on my priority list. Just about any activity can trump work, today it's a 1:00pm Tee time.

As for the Mariners, I was at the Twins / M's game yesterday afternoon and as they have done all season on weekday daytime games, they lost. Not so badly as they did 4 weeks ago when they generated 0 runs and 4 hits. And not as badly as they lost 2 weeks ago when they produced 0 runs on 2 hits against a Baltimore starting pitcher entering the game with a season ERA of 8.07.

I'll grant you that the the Wednesday game was more exciting. The M's did a great job of making that game dramatic by surrendering 5 runs in the 8th inning toying with the Twins allowing them to tie the game and setting up Carl Everett's 11th inning heroics.

In my next life, I hope to be born a Yankees fan.

I know that the Kickball Cup is exciting and all, but what is more exciting is the fact that baseball season is still going on. God bless America, and God bless baseball. What a wonderful age we live in.

My wife and I spent our anniversary on Wednesday at Safeco Field, watching the Mariners hammer five homeruns off of the woeful Twins in a 10-9 extra-inning victory. Great fun.

Take care,

Deacon
