As we're compiling our traffic control wish lists, we may want to take a look at sections of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). MUTCD contains the guidance (criteria and "warrants") that traffic engineers use to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed installations. It's tough to get installations approved that don't meet MUTCD criteria.
