Mr. Nisbet stated:

"Actually, Tom and every person in the service is required to take that oath

every time they enlist, so repeating it more than once is actually
required."

Repeating it [Oath of Enlistment] more than once is NOT required, Mr.
Nisbet. How can a soldier be required to repeat the Oath of Enlistment, Mr.
Nisbet, if that soldier elects not to reenlist?

Another thing: I may not belong to the local VFW. It simply was/is not
going the direction I was/am hoping. I am, however, a lifetime member of
DAV (Disabled American Veterans, http://www.dav.org), who maintain a very
strong lobby in our nation's capital. The DAV has a general membership
meeting once a year. Last year it was held in Denver. I am proud to say
that Boise will be hosting the 2007 general membership meeting. The meeting
lasts for three days. It opens with the presentation of the colors and the
Pledge of Allegiance and closes (three days later) with the retirement of
the colors. Both opening and closing ceremonies are formal. The pledge is
recited one time (and one time ONLY) at the opening ceremony.

One last thing, Mr. Nisbet: I do not like it when people take it upon
themselves to assume familiarity where it has not been invited. OK, Mr.
Nisbet?

Take care, Moscow.
