*warm smile*

Okay, just for you my long time friend, I will return
to this venue to answer. I didn't mean to "send" that
last one until I was finished *L* You all should be in
bed by now anyway! *chuckling*

You are correct about the parking lots. I forgot about
the lot by the library. Woe is me, should any of us
get exercise! They are frequently not even half full.

Twenty-five years ago, I cleaned apartments at the
Moscow Hotel for Ruth Bode. I would always take my
break in the beautiful corner apartment that
overlooked friendship square. Sitting in an
overstuffed chair, my feet on a window sill, sipping a
chilled diet coke. Watching business owners and
employees of smaller businesses move their cars every
2-3 hours. GTE workers would come out, change places
en masse. Living here as long as I have, nearly forty
years, I knew most of the business owners and
employess... So, I knew they weren't shopping.

I believe that business owners should self-police
their employees from playing car hop scotch every
three hours. They should park further away from the
CBD. The entire time I worked downtown, at one time or
another, every employee traded parking places.

We have a WONDERFUL public transportation system, we
should use it!

If all businesses, NSA students and staff parked in
those lots, Howard St, included, we (the shopping
public) could park within 15 feet of where we are
shopping.

PLUS add additional much needed disabled parking
spots. There is a real lack of disabled parking
downtown that has bothered me for a long time. We are
complaining about not being able to find a spot near
where we want to shop. What about the man or lady in a
van, that is unable to find parking marked for
disabled and can't shop downtown AT ALL????

Janesta

Personally, other than disabled parking I see no
problem with needing to walk a block or two. Does me
good, unless there is ice on the sidewalk, then I get
kind of cranky. *sweet smile*
