Carl,
You're touching on a form of hypocrisy that drives me up the wall.
Last week, for instance, Doug F. wrote:
“There were 10,418 messages sent to Venom 2020 in 2005. Of that, 3211 discussed Pastor Wilson, Christ Church, Logos, NSA, Dale or other Church members in a very negative light. As of Jan 2006: 441 out of 1,582 and so far in Feb 2006 (to date): 273 out of 937.That's over 29% (avg). Of the respondents that feel the deep seated need to fill their Venom sacks up each day and bite, a special thanks to all of you.”
3,211 out of 10,418 is slightly less than 31%. By Doug F.’s own estimations it has REDUCED to about 29% overall, which includes postings by Pat K., Phil N., Gary C. and others who are by no means critics of Wilson, et. al. Yet the whole lot of us are put under one offensive banner: Venom 2020.
Dale Courney’s website notes that he lives in “the People’s Republic of Moscow,” which the last time I looked included people of all types, including those from CC/NSA. Wilson uses the term “Intoleristas” to refer to a group that consist of Jews, Muslims, atheists, and Christians of various denominations, including former and current members of Christ Church.
Everyone wants to be treated as an individual and the folks at NSA/CC are no different. I try my best not to generalize on them based on the hurtful, harmful rhetoric of their leader. I’m not saying I’ve been perfect in this endeavor but I do try and I will continue to do so. I challenge Wilson, Doug F., and Dale Courtney to so, as well.

On Dale's blog last week, he posted (twice) the results of the Political
Compass test that Joan asked us to take so she could write a story for New
West magazine. The graph was broken down by the designers of the test as,
from left to right, Economic Left/Right, and from top to bottom,
Authoritarian at the top, to Libertarian at the bottom. Dale, however,
interpreted it as Socialist/Communist on the left hand side, and Anarchist
on the bottom half of the graph. I didn't take the test all that seriously,
figuring it was more of a lark than a truly serious test of one's leanings,
but I do wish to make that correction. He also said that those of us who
ended up on the left bottom portion of the graph claim to represent
mainstream Moscow. Have we? None of us represent mainstream Moscow. All
of us represent mainstream Moscow. Did that make sense, or was it just
gibberish? Yep, it was gibberish. Forget what I just said.
