On Dale's blog last week, he posted (twice) the results of the Political
Compass test that Joan asked us to take so she could write a story for New
West magazine. The graph was broken down by the designers of the test as,
from left to right, Economic Left/Right, and from top to bottom,
Authoritarian at the top, to Libertarian at the bottom. Dale, however,
interpreted it as Socialist/Communist on the left hand side, and Anarchist
on the bottom half of the graph. I didn't take the test all that seriously,
figuring it was more of a lark than a truly serious test of one's leanings,
but I do wish to make that correction. He also said that those of us who
ended up on the left bottom portion of the graph claim to represent
mainstream Moscow. Have we? None of us represent mainstream Moscow. All
of us represent mainstream Moscow. Did that make sense, or was it just
gibberish? Yep, it was gibberish. Forget what I just said.

                                   Carl Westberg Jr.
