Debie,

First off I think you ment to say deity and not diety. If you mean to 
pray to your "god" and not your south beach diet, let me help you with 
your prayers...

1. Prepare a place on a high spot and make an alter.
2. Call on the name of your god from morning until noon saying, "O 
Baal, answer us."
3. Leap about the altar which you have made.
4. Call out with a loud voice, for he/she is a god and should hear you.
5. From noon until the evening, cry with a loud voice and cut and 
tattoo yourself according to your custom with swords and lances until 
the blood gushes out.
6. When you have done all this listen to the silence... either your god 
is occupied in the toilet or is on a journey or perhaps he/she is 
asleep and needs to be awakened...
7. Repeat steps 1-6 till you get an answer...
