[Vision2020] alternative routes

Tom,

That is exactly the same as using 7th street. 7th is easier though. But I really don't like to use neighborhood streets for that. There are too many dogs, pedestrians, children at play, cyclists, and pedestrians on those narrow neighborhood streets with lots of cars parked on both sides. The four way stop on Harrison and Spotswood is also an accident waiting to happen because of poor visibility at that weird angled intersection. Further, it is only good for traveling to downtown, it doesn't work well for coming back.

If they reopened 1st Street again and put a light at the corner of 95 and 1st, that would be a big improvement.

  Best,

Have you tried this route? How about 8th or Lewis, turn R, go to Spotswood and take it to Blaine. I haven't tried it but in my head it sounds like it could work.

  Tom,

7th Street is the fastest actually. However, when you add in the time it takes scraping pedestrians and cyclists off your bumper when you get home, it is faster to use Blaine to the Troy Highway, then get off at 5th street or follow it all the way to to the end and take First Street.

I have decided if I cannot find it at the Eastside Market Place I will just do without. It now costs me $3 to progress just 6 blocks downtown. I don't have that kind of money. No more down town for me until construction is completed.

Best,

Anyone find any nuggets in traversing Moscow yesterday? I found that I made good time taking HWY 8 to Blaine instead of 3rd or D Streets. -Tom
