I think you got your notes mixed up. To my knowledge, Gabe isn't a Greyfriar either. 

But, then again, I'm willing to be corrected. Does anyone have the NSA petition handy? I bet we can check that to see if he's been in Greyfriars at all in the last four or five years.

So, is his message that UI produces poor readers and spellers or just that 
HE is a poor reader and speller and that he attended UI?  Or is it that IN 
SPITE of an UI education he is a poor reader and speller because, he 
certainly should have learned SOMETHING in high school, junior high, 
elementary, etc...don'tcha think?

BTW, being a part of Greyfriars should be teaching him to be a good reader 
since he does have to do SO much reading, right?  So blaming UI for being a 
poor reader still doesn't make much sense if he has been in Greyfriars for 
so long and he IS married to the head honcho of that "seminary that isn't a 
seminary."

Ah, but the logic classes are going to such great uses, are they not!
