I venture to say that we, as a people, are much better off because of some of the not-so-pleasant things that happened in our past. (No, I don't endorse them all, but, where would many of us be without them?) After all, we could be another France, Canada, or Mexico. Perhaps it's just me, but I prefer the United States. Unfortunately, after the nasty things of our past helped gain us dominance of the world's stage, we are curling into a self-loathing heap of guilt for being so prosperous, thus going out of our way, being as much a pacifist as possible as a way of paying reparations. Time for playing apologetics is past
