[Vision2020] Idahoan Votes 'No' on Aid

I couldn't agree more! Truly sickening!

And, as to what he's waiting for . . . well, this isn't nice of me, but
perhaps he's just waiting for more people to DIE so less money will be
needed. Or maybe he thinks those $2000 per family (well, certain families,
anyway) debit cards are enough for folks who have lost *everything* except
their lives to move on.

BTW, as long as I'm posting again on my DISGUST about the whole Katrina
thing, to which we can now add Otter to the Hall of Shame, does anyone know
what's with the following double-standard?!?!?

"Police fearing deadly confrontations with jittery residents enforced a new
order that bars homeowners from owning guns. That order apparently does not
apply to the hundreds of M-16-toting private security guards hired to
protect businesses and wealthy property owners."

Oh, yeah . . . I'd feel so *safe* with those on the streets! I happen to
know that screening for private security guards in general is severely
lacking, and I can't imagine that in Katrina's aftermath things on that
score have improved.

However, in the same article, I was pleased to read:
"In a shift, the military began providing cages to homeowners to allow them
to evacuate with their pets. "We got the capacity, and it seemed like the
right thing to do," said Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honore."

Now, there's a man I could love :-) I've been watching him since he
arrived on scene, and I've been impressed!

In a perfect world, one thing I hope we've learned is that our disaster
planning needs to include provisions for non-human family members. It's
happened with every disaster, of course, but with Katrina, time & time &
time, we heard about people refusing to leave without their companion
animals. As individuals, we need to include animals in our disaster
planning, but they also *must* be included in local, state, and federal
disaster plans.

Well, all I can say is it is nice to see his true colours prior to the
election.

How sickening. What does he want to do? Wait? I think there has been enough
"waiting" for everyone down there by now.
