Dear Culture-Lovers of Moscow,
The Washington Idaho Symphony deserves a huge audience for this next
concert. Under the new conductor, Nick Wallin, they are sounding better
than ever. Concert-goers at the opening concert raved about that
performance; this one promises to be as good.
Or better -- with three unique pieces on the program: The block-buster, of
course, is Rimsky-Korsakovs Scheherazade. But who could resist listening
in on Ravels Mother Goose Suite, or getting lost in Sarasates Navarra,
featuring the violinists Meredith Arksey and Yaroslav Tereshchenko. It is a
dream performance for those of you who love strings. I went to the first
rehearsal of Scheherazade and couldnt believe the quality of sound.
This concert is on Saturday, November 5 at 8:00 pm at Gladish Auditorium,
115 NW State Street, Pullman or Sunday, November 6, at 3:00 pm, at the
Lewiston High School, Lewiston.
Tickets at the most cost-effective price are still on sale at the Chamber of
Commerce or by calling the symphony office (509-332-3408). The $41/set of 4
tickets cuts $5.00 off the price of individual tickets at the door. Really
a great deal! But come anyway, those of you who have never tried the
symphony before and want to proceed cautiously come try it out once!
($15/single ticket, but always made sweeter because you may bring a child
for free.) Youll be back.
If you have not dropped by for a symphony performance lately, you are
depriving yourself of one of the most exciting events taking place on the
Palouse.
