Let me see if I have this right.

Ms. Kraut feels that teachers should not feel so poor, provided the rest of 
the state is poor as well?

That is similar to saying that a person living in the 9th Ward of New 
Orleans should not feel poor as long as that person is earning an annual 
income commensurate with everybody else in the 9th Ward.

Hmmmmm.
