[Vision2020] Intolerista Score Card

Could we possibly consider retiring "Intolerista" in favor of, say, "Some People I Don't Like," or "People with Silly Ideas" or even "The Damned"?

Remember Newspeak, the official governmental language in *1984*? I quote from Orwell:

"The B vocabulary consisted of words which had been deliberately constructed for political purposes: words, that is to say, which not only had in every case a political implication, but were intended to impose a desirable mental attitude upon the person using them."

"Intolerista" is a perfect example of the deliberate construction of a B vocabulary word. That it achieves its goal is evident in Doug Farris's entire post, in which the personal vilification of a large number of people is justified simply by reference to the term itself, and what was intended to be humorous is simply vulgar, rude, or incoherent.

Our ideas can only be as good as the words at our disposal.

Seeing as how it is soooo quiet on Blind2020 and Joan came up with the ScoreCard thema and I had a break I thought I would put out my own scorecard of players.

I call it the Intolerista Score Card.....

Rose and Saundra have run out of steam or what ever drives their engine waiting for the next wave of complaints to happen.

Keeley has stopped inflicting her cat with a good fongging!

Carl is avoiding conflict (and the Mariners) to beep his blood pressure at a resting state.

Melynda is undecided on where to vote.

Joan is on assignment for the SAS In England which will allow Aaron Rench some breating room.

Tim Ribsy is looking for his master.

Jackie is still bitter.

Wayne is off his medication.

Tom Hansen is still lost somewhere on the UoI campus.

Nick Gier is still wrong!

& Charlie Nolan is watching old re-runs of Alias to come up with a new persona.

lemeno, Doug! I'm still clueless...
