Which brings up an interesting point: in 2002, Peg Hamlett was the only
Moscow City Council to vote against the new Wilson-promoted breast and
butt crack ordinance. What has changed since then? Have Doug and
company buried the hatchet for the sake of political expedience? If
so, then how does this jibe with their (repeated) claims to act
entirely and always in accord with eternal, never-changing, God-given
Biblical principle?
Of course, I support Doug Wilson's individual right to free speech. It
doesn't matter that he's a minister; so am I. (For those who don't
remember this particular "lark," I was ordained in December 2003 via
the Universal Life Church, http://www.ulc.org. This past September, I
performed my first wedding. My signature on the marriage license made
it all legal.) What is objectionable -- and not kosher legally -- is
Doug's using his pulpit and church resources to directly campaign for
political causes and/or candidates. Has he stepped over the line here?
Yes, many times. Witness the church emails encouraging members to
vote for Paul Kimmel as county commissioner. I believe that my
mother-in-law, Rose, brought those to the light of day.
The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Michael
will denounce this as rude speculation, but Doug Wilson's name on Dale
Courtney's .pdf file means (to me) that he had something to do with
Dale's "questionnaire." No surprises there. Doug has more fingers in
more pies than Cyrus O'Leary.
