[Vision2020] Wayne's World

After Vision 2020 just had an evening of postings
concerning being respectful in their language to those
with disabilities and Janesta, who works closely with
those that have a disability said,

“Comments made of that nature... 'take your meds,
prozac, or whatever' imply to me that someone with
mental illness doesn't have a right to have an opinion
or to post on vision2020. Those of you who believe
that, are incorrect. To imply that by making comments
of that nature about another person with whom you
disagree, displays a lack of civility and dignity on
their part.”

Wayne Fox demonstrates his lack of respect for those
with disabilities in his statement to another vision
2020 poster,

“just tell us so that we can understand your cognitive
disabilities and accord your posts the merit they're
due.”

This is the type of discrimination people are
complaining about. To imply, suggest, or promote the
notion that people’s opinions should be devalued or
disregarded because they have a cognitive disability
is one of the worst forms of bigotry, ignorance, and
disregard faced by many millions of people.

More then one in twenty people in the United States
have some form of cognitive or mental disability.
Their opinions are just as important to them as your
opinions are to you. Their ideas, beliefs, and
contributions to the community are just as valuable as
every over human being on the planet.

If you every make comments aimed at devaluing the
feelings or opinions of another human being because
they have a disability, know these two facts; you are
just as much a bigot as someone who judges on the
bases of skin color, gender, or religion etc., and you
are 100% WRONG!!!!

Take Care,

Donovan J Arnold
