"Of all the Renaissance Fairs I've been to in Moscow, this one was one of
the best. And regarding the spelling of spinich (sic), what do you want,
good grammar or good taste?"
Good question, Brother Carl. There was an excellent Chinese restaurant on
High Street in Columbus, Ohio that sold a dish called "Chincken Broccoili."
The spelling was atrocious, but the dish was great. And besides . . .
perhaps it was "spinich." Yeah, it was spinach mixed with hemp, which
itches, and so they combined the two and . . . no, that doesn't work
because we're still missing a "t." Ah, bugger. As long as people bought
it and ate it, who cares?
Okay, I care, but I hate to let on about it. And, just for the record,
Kai, I don't like Joan Baez anymore than you do. A lovely soprano but her
voice lacks soul. (Sorry, Baez fans. Please do not pelt me with rotten
tomatoes. This is just my opinion.) For the same reason, I think Linda
Ronstadt is the weak link on the Trio albums. My favorite singers are k.
d. lang, Eva Cassidy, and Dinah Washington -- and if you say anything foul
about them, Kai Eiselein, I shall climb off my death bed and come nail your
feet to your Latah Eagle desk.
I have to go lie down now. This coughing business has cost me at least
three-quarters of a lung. I hope none of you get this cold -- it's a
biohazard.
Joan
PS: Thank you to Aaron Ament for covering for me last night. Word has it
that you were great. Too great, in fact. I'm afraid I'll have to
assassinate you, else you might take my place . . .
