Here is the perspective of an "Old Foggie"
Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Rap and Bebop are all horrible. There is an occasional good song by a rock group, such as "The Tide is High" by Blondie.
The best music is from the 19th Century and the 20th up to about 1965. The main reason country music has became so popular is the decline in good pop music. Even country music is now going to heavy to rock. Irish ballads are some of the best.
There is an outstanding local group from Princeton that plays old ballads and some religious music (The Ownby Family)
They play the guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, etc. I think it would be nice if Kai ran a feature on them in the Eagle.
The absolute worst contemporary country song is "Earl" by the Dixie Chicks.
