"Not killing people from behind the wheel of a car??????"
It's a mind altering drug, as is alcohol, and does affect motor skills.
Which, last time I checked, are required to drive a car.
Moreover, how many of those 70s/80s parties were you at where people were
toking AND drinking? I remember people telling me that when they drove they
felt like they were going 70 mph, but in reality were only going 20 mph.
Frankly, I think the whole reason for the "medicinal" use is to get a
loophole where your local ganja master can find a sympathetic doctor to give
him a 'scrip and then bubble his bong with impunity. True, it also happens
with other drugs as well, but what about ensuring some type of standards on
the stuff? Just gonna go to your local dealer and buy whatever he's got? God
only knows what it might be laced with.
I don't care what others do, as long as they aren't on the highway.
I grew up in Arizona and my high school was just a couple of blocks from the
Mexican border, I've seen what constant use of pot can do.
And now for something completely different.........In the 60s Rolling Stone
magazine offered a roach clip with every new subscription - In the 80s its
employment contract allowed for drug testing.
