*	Choosing your supports and services
*	Taking responsibility for your choices
*	Giving back to your community


Beginning June 16, in Preston, and June 17 in Bonners Ferry, the 
Council on Developmental Disabilities will be presenting community 
rallies for self-determination. From these two starting points, rally 
teams will travel by bus to 35 different communities on their way to 
the Grand Finale at the Idaho Capitol on June 24!

Community volunteer teams have been planning and organizing rallies for 
their communities. Efforts are focused on reaching adults with 
developmental disabilities, their families members, people and 
organizations who support them, and state and local government 
officials.

Rallies will serve four purposes:

1.	Inform people about self-determination for adults with development 
disabilities.

2.	Inform people about past and future efforts to promote 
self-determination in Idaho.

3.	Provide people with links to resources where they can learn more 
about self-determination.

4.	Reach a large number of people in their home communities.

Rallies will be unique to each community. Each rally will feature 
information sharing by people who have helped promote 
self-determination for adults with developmental disabilities. Some 
surprises are being planned, we will have a lot of fun, as well a 
learning new things and empowering ourselves!  Rallies will last 60-90 
minutes.
