Visionaries:

My husband, who has a nodding acquaintance with military tactics, tells me
that surprise is a key element in a winning campaign. And so, although I
invited Doug to play a game of catch -- and some Visionaries may have a passing
interest in watching me pitch a no-hitter to a no-brainer -- I sense the need
for a larger playing field, one with more seating for the fans. The game
will be postponed -- just a little while.

Oh, and just one more thing, Blogstalker; let the boss that the spirit of
Jenny Geddes is alive and well and living about 10 miles east of Moscow. Have
him check out my new, slightly paraphrased tag-line. And, just in case he
can't translate it, despite all of that Braveheart blood flowing in his
arteriosclerotic vessels, (you can't feast forever without some vascular
consequences) I've put the contemporary English below.

Rose Huskey

"Deil colic the wame o’ ye, fause thief; daur ye say leas in my lug?"
Jenny Geddes
"The devil cause you severe pain and flatulent distention of your abdomen,
false thief: dare you say lies in my ear?"

Note: For those who don't know about Jenny Geddes, she's an interesting
character, and gets far to little credit for her bold stance against the attempt
by the British to re-institute the Church of England as the national religion
of Scotland. Jenny is a model for anyone who opposes the mixture of church
and state. I ran across the history of Jenny Geddes many years ago, and
always knew that her example and words would come in handy some day.
