Carl,

If you are wanting to perform brain surgery for your
overly emotional and irrational friends I suggest you
do the following.

First, try and see if you can get blood flowing back
to the cerebral cortex. This will restore the higher
functioning portions of the brain that control logic
and reasoning.

If this is unsuccessful, I would suggest making about
a 1 inch deep incision on the lower portions of the
motor cortex, both the left and right hemispheres.
These incisions will disable the ability of your
friend to control their mouth, lips, throat and
tongue. Now this will not help the patient, but it
does wonders for everyone else around them.
