Doug Wilson has, again, posted a question-answer session he had with a
writer/reader of his blog and V2020; I have some responses to his posting:
1. "NSA started to put up its Christmas lights this week. The first batch
had been up for just a couple hours before a line of them was pulled down by
some ad hoc volunteer members of the Tolerance Squad. It was a simple act of
vandalism, involving a good bit of money. Susannah, we are not the ones
pulling Christmas lights off your establishments. WE ARE NOT SPITTING ON THE
DOORS OF THOSE WITH WHOM WE DISAGREE.THAT IS THE KIND OF THING BEING DONE TO
US, AND IN THE NAME OF YOUR TOLERANCE. NO THANK YOU."
First of all, this is an old post. These "incidents", IF they occurred, did
so in Dec 2003. As then, I now ask that you produce a police report that
backs this allegation up. You didn't have one then, don't believe you will
now. I find it very interesting that you continue to bring up the same
points of misconduct - seems rather obvious that there has perhaps not been
any "new incidents" and this is the best you can come up with to incite the
public against your "enemies".
Secondly, while you MAY not be doing these types of activities, you do
advocate and preach, as do others in the CC, for the DEATH of people you do
not like; i.e. homosexuals, children who curse their parents, etc.
You DO advocate the "discipline" of those in the church that you disagree
with, i.e. students of NSA that frequent establishments such as One World,
who are looking for outside friendships; employees whose family members
disagree with you or Doug Jones to the point of firing that employee; the
temporary banishment of a husband for "mis-deeds during the marriage", etc.
YOU, personally, had advocated for and were successful in breaking up a
14(+) year marriage because of the wife's illness and the awarding of the
children to the husband on a permanent basis with little or no contact
allowed between the mother and children. As I recall your talk in the NuArt
Theater at that Head of Household meeting, "Don't speak with her if at all
possible; if you see her coming down the street do what you can to avoid
her; remember her mind is not quite right so do not engage her in any
conversation, especially concerning the church, etc."
2. "And this connects to the second point -- this is the climate in which
the "Not in Our Town" campaign is being conducted. When our people are being
physically harassed (and they are), and at the same time there is a campaign
to rid the town of us, and those who are involved in the leadership of this
campaign appear not to have noticed the harassment, and have not condemned
such things, what are we to think? "Not in Our Town" appears to be ambiguous
as a phrase, but it leads to questions, like what is not to be in our town?
Judging from the posters I have seen, the answer to that would appear to be
hate. How do you get rid of what you identify (wrongly) as hate, haters,
hate speech, and hate groups? What do you mean, not in our town?"
Again, if you have some kind of proof that anyone in your church has
actually been or is currently being physically harassed, bring it on. As I
recall, your people do not wear any kind of visible marking that lets people
know for sure, "oh yeah, there goes a Kirker" allowing for a follow-up
statement of "let's get 'em!" It is pure nonsense to think that anyone is
"out to get" you or your church members. Actually, it speaks of a person's
mental status who continually barks they are being persecuted...isn't that
known as paranoia?
On the other hand, abuse of children at the hands of your teachers in Logos
School has been well recorded and acknowledged by your Mr. Garfield and the
teachers for years. When is someone in your church going to step up and
protect those innocents that you have in your grasp?
You speak of and demand tolerance from those that disagree with you, yet you
don't seem able to show others that same kind of behavior.
Your accusations and assertions are old, Doug; ever hear of the story of
"The Boy Who Cried Wolf"?
J ;)
