I'm afraid your knowledge of some the V 2020 posters is incomplete, possibly because you are a new participant.  

The most vehement critics of the CCC, of which I am one, believe in the application of the law to everyone including NSA in an even-handed manner.  We also believe that initial initiative and individual freedom are exceptionally important.

I, and probably all of my friends, would expect the tax laws, zoning laws, etc. to be applied to the theoretical institute you describe in your post and to everyone else.  If they were not, and the issue was raised on this forum, then I would expect as many postings discussing the issue as you have witnessed and participated in over the last few days.

That is the issue here -- evenhandedness.  The zoning issue with NSA is the tip of the iceberg with the CCC:  safe hijackings with no evidence of outside participation, art theft, arson, illegal gaming, missing cash, obstruction of justice, alleged child/spousal abuse, other dishonesties, etc., etc. are all crimes occurring within the CCC that somehow the local enforcement authorities failed to deal with in the same way that they would have dealt with you or I.

The zoning issue may be an opportunity for citizens of Moscow to see exposed (if the Daily News is also on the ball, unbiased and unafraid) some of the machinations of the City and Moscow and the CCC.  

If Mike Curley plays his cards right and forces the zoning issue into court in such a way that discovery (under oath) is permitted, I would think that you as a prominent and successful downtown Moscow businessperson will be incensed about how the CCC and some of their related business entities have received special favors that have cost all of us, including yourself, money, and have lead to unfair competition.  (An apology:  I should have included your business in the list of good examples of downtown entrepreneurship I posted yesterday.  You and your principals made a large investment that greatly benefits the downtown area and one that posed a lot of risk.  I have known businesses with similar products and services to fail who had a marketing area 20 times as populous as yours -- but your business thrives.)

Even after this zoning dispute comes to some kind of resolution, some revelations of other aspects of the CCC's operations and perhaps their unhealthy entanglement with certain City of Moscow persons/public officials will be exposed.  I am sure some the practices that will be exposed will piss you off as a businessman and may change your view of some of those in city government you might have thought were on your side and almost completely shared your philosophy.  (You might reread some of the posts more carefully of those you now think are your social/economic enemies -- I think you will find upon careful reflection that you have a lot in common with them.

Look also for some other surprises during this calendar year about tax cheating, and not just with the CCC.

  Suppose for the sake of argument that the NSA didn't exist but that a

  Lets call them the Moscow interfaith peace institute. 

  They receive the bulk of funding from nontaxable groups. 

  George Soros and various progessive orgs. They provide the bulk of operating capital. 

  The peace institute holds classes for its peace degree, which is non-accredited. 

  They pick the finest activists to teach, not bothering whether they are degree'd or not. 

  Students and faculty use the nearest parking that they have purchased permits for. 

  Now imagine, someone brings up that they are in violation of Moscow zoning. 

  Do you really think that this complaint would last more than one post on this board? 

  Both schools have supposedly violated the same laws, same procedures. 

  Do you wonder why the NSA rates hate? 

  Would the peace institute be treated the same by the intellectually honest? 

  When you play with discrimination and hate, it has to work both ways. 

  The purpose of openness and acceptance, tolerance has to include all views. 

  Are you tolerant?
