>From what I gathered in the article, this $10,000 has been given to the
chamber annually by the city council for several years now. I'm not
saying it's right, and I'm not saying it's wrong. All I'm saying is
that (again, from what I understand) it's been done for some time now.
It's evidently a chunk of change the chamber has counted on for some
time now.
While I may not necessarily agree with taxpayer money going to the
chamber (there are several tax supported members), it sounds to me like
the chamber is addressing concerns.

Is this the same Chamber of Commerce that Kimmell stated (last August)
is
financially sound, yet they require an additional $10,000?
Are these the same problems that Kimmell stated (last August) were well
on
their way to recovery?
It is my impression that the tax payers of Moscow have been lied to
repeatedly. It is also my impression that Kimmell purposely lied (last
August) to ensure a $10,000 "roll in the hay" with city officials. Do
you
realize that if I were a loan officer at a bank and authorized a $10,000
loan to a business that had no visible means to repay the loan, I would
probably end up in jail? But then, I am not on the Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors with such keen oversight (oops! There goes that word
again).
The people that sought $10,000 from the tax payers' hard-earned wages in
January are the very same people that will be speaking out against the
school levy in April.
It is time to define and publicize the Chamber's priorities and
standards
and at regular intervals evaluate how they are achieving and maintaining
those priorities and standards.
The Chamber needs to take a long, hard look at itself and determine
where
all this started and how they can better serve the businesses and
citizens
of Moscow, Idaho.
Until then . . .
Take care of yourselves and each other.

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some
are
dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they
all
exist very nicely in the same box.
