Joan,

You are really off-base!

I hope that for the sake of your children that you enroll them immediately in Logos School. That way, they can learn the proper role of women in God's Creation from Christ Church Cult Master Douglas Wilson's most obedient, slavishly worshipping minions. Your children will also learn that sexual abusive spanking and other acts is a gift of privilege to God's mighty male servants and that it is women's and children's sacred duty to bear such abuse with pleasure and humility, and most importantly, to recognize it as a supreme gift from God.

Get with the program, you uppity member of the far lesser sex!

  Dear Visionaries:

Now here's an interesting thing. If you run a search on Google of the terms "Tai Chi" and "Moscow, Idaho," you pull up a link to a book by Nancy Wilson on appropriate behavior for Christian wives. The book is called The Fruit of Her Hands.

Here's a snippet from the first reader's review:

        Its about time!
        Rating: 5 out of 5
Review: Its about time someone stood up and told Christian women what being married to a Christian man ought to look like. It is a life of service, hard work, piety, and submission.

Gee, Christian marriage sounds about as much fun as indentured servitude. This woman doesn't need Tai Chi, and she certainly doesn't need Nancy Wilson. What she needs is Tae Kwon Do. Or kick-boxing. Or a sledgehammer and a good attorney.

Instead of service, hard work, piety and submission, could I just cut to the chase and get a poke in the eye with a sharp stick?

PS: The sad thing is, I really do want to find someone who teaches Tai Chi here in Moscow, but now I'm afraid to look.
