Moscow Food Co-op Move Will Be Radio Topic
Kenna Eaton, Moscow Food Co-op general manager, will discuss the relocation of the Co-op to the present Gart's store at Fifth and Washington in downtown Moscow on Aaron Ament's radio talk show on KRFP-FM 92.5 on Tuesday, February 15, at 6:30pm.
During the broadcast, listeners may phone 892-9200 to ask questions about the move, the impact of the relocation on downtown Moscow, the community loan program, or related topics.
In August, the Moscow Food Co-op will move to the new location. The costs associated with the move, including major renovation of the building, new equipment and products, are expected to total about $1 million. The financing will come in the form of funds already saved by the Co-op ($100,000), a loan from a local bank ($400,000), a loan from Clearwater Economic Development Assn ($150,000), and loans from Co-op members ($350,000). The Co-op board of directors has signed a renewable 15-year lease with property owner Beth Kenworthy.
