[Vision2020] White washing Heisenberg

In several of the exchanges concerning Werner Heisenberg I have been highly 
interested in the fact that the white washing of the role that certain Nazi 
scientists had within the SS and Nazi power structure seem to have resulted 
in a major revisionist view strongly akin to Holocaust Denialism.  Its 
interesting that many who actively accept that following the Second World 
War, there was a major US Government cover up that allowed many German war 
criminal to escape justice, would come up with the same excuses used in that 
instance to white wash people who they support.

In 1937, when Heisenberg was denounced by some for his close relationships 
with certain Jewish physicists, he wrote directly to Himmler as the Head of 
the SS requesting exoneration.  He was completely cleared as both a full 
blooded Aryan and a full supporter of the Nazi regime and further, granted 
special favor by Himmler for publication and funding of his projects.

One of the special fundings granted to Heisenberg was for trips into 
Denmark, where in 1941, he tried to convince Niels Bohr and the members of 
his Institute to fully cooperate with the Nazis, since Heisenberg was 
utterly convinced that Hitler was destined to rule Europe and the World.  
Bohr wrote after the war trying to point out Heisenberg’s white washing of 
his role in the Nazi regime, as did others who were present at the time in 
Copenhagen, but Heisenberg devotees have swept these objections under the 
carpet.

Heisenberg knew that Jewish women slave laborers were being forced to 
produce uranium for his various experiments.  He never protested this or the 
unprotected condition of those workers in handling toxic and dangerous 
materials.  Rather Heisenberg frequently insisted that production at that 
slave labor facility be increased.

As I have previously noted, the original matrix mechanics mathematics was 
not developed by Heisenberg, but by his boss Max Born, because Heisenberg 
was not a very good mathematician.  This is further shown by his inability 
to recognize the proper way to calculate critical mass for a U 235 bomb, his 
projection of the need to have thousands of pounds of uranium or hundreds of 
kilos of plutonium to make a bomb feasible.  While in internment following 
the war, he claimed that the Hiroshima bomb was a hoax, since his work 
showed that a bomb could not be produced.  This has now been white washed to 
claim that Werner Heisenberg was trying to keep the Nazi’s secretly from 
getting the A Bomb, something that war time documents, the recollections of 
Bohr, Meinter and others, show as being far from the truth.

In the last few years there has been an effort to discredit Einstein in 
favor of the ideas of philosopher and physicist Werner Heisenberg.  All of 
these efforts gloss over Heisenberg’s bad science and his role as an agent 
for Hitler.  I have to ask, why are they doing that?  Why are they so afraid 
that Heisenberg will be discredited by his past association with the Nazi 
regime?
