Well, I will put on my teacher shoes now and agree that "is" is indeed a 
correct way to end a sentence.  "Do you know where my coat is?" is correct, 
but "Do you know where my coat is at?" is not.  I wonder how you would 
rephrase that sentence to NOT end in is....hands anyone?
