Mr Farris is considerably braver, and consequently more willing to be offensive, on email than in person.  When we met on Wednesday evening at the P&Z hearing, not only did he shake my hand, but he apologized for offensive remarks he has made about gay and lesbian people.  

When not confronted with real fellow citizens, it appears the courage of his convictions returns.
