Kill two birds

I hope this community doesn't miss out on an opportunity to kill two birds
with one stone. What an opportune time to build a new HS when there is a
need for the old building so it won't sit empty. It is such a good location
for the needs of the courthouse. In some communities the courthouse is the
pride of the county seat, not a downtown school. I did an investigation of
the number of kids that can eat lunch at the high school (due to terribly
limited lunch room space) and the number of kids that eat at the various
downtown establishments. Well over half go elsewhere. The majority drives
since they are not within walking distance of home anyway. It is wonderful
to have the timing coincide (and probably the long-term costs, too) for the
community to come together to help meet the county's needs, too.

Remember that flat land to build on is getting further from the center of
town every year. Then there's the big tax dollar savings of not having to
buy 30 acres.

Take care, Moscow.

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will
stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving
path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so
far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

-Sir Winston Churchill
