[Vision2020] Clarifying---no more "Views?"

Bill et al.
Thanks for the note.
I just wanted to reply to say I hope I didn't give anyone wrong impressions.
I should have made it more clear that the person I discussed the show with was NOT involved in management at KUOI. In fact, the only feedback I've gotten so far from KUOI staff has been positive.
As anyone who has listened to my show knows, I'm prone to mistakes now and then and this must be yet another in a long list!
This individual was only "associated" with KUOI-- however they were probably in a better position than I am to gauge opinion about my show.
I guess my mail was a little too cryptic.
The vagueness was intentional.
Even though the person I talked to discussed my show without the courtesy of any notice or having given me the chance to respond, I personally didn't want to engage in that same type of behavior.
This person gave me the distinct impression that my show was definitely not a good thing for the station and that his view was widely held among persons in our community who have listened.
My purpose in sending the mail was to get that out in the open and to discontinue hosting the show if these opinions are borne out.
As I mentioned, KUOI is a lot more important than just one show.
Best,
TL

I guess we are all learning the difference between a student radio station and a community radio station.
I hope you are looking into doing a show on KRFP Radio Free Moscow....BL

Visionaries,
This morning I sent the following email to the KUOI list-serve.
If, in the near future, my show doesn't air at its regular Sun. morning time or if you don't see anymore of my regular notices about upcoming guests on my show, you'll know why.
I know this likely qualifies for "tempest in teapot" status, but I just thought a few of you would want to know since some of you have been guests or even occasional listeners to my show.
The "jury" is still out--just a heads-up.
Thanks,
Tim Lohrmann

Hello everyone,
This morning I spoke with someone associated with KUOI about my Sunday morning show--"Moscow Morning Views."
The "gist" of the conversation was that this person believes that the way in which I conduct my show is a net negative for the station and the community. Basically, the thinking of this individual was that not only does my show not serve any good purpose but that it is counterproductive. I invited this person to come on my show to discuss their complaints, but they declined because they apparently didn't want to be associated with the show or thought it would be an inappropriate forum for their views.
While I disagree, my main interest is to not create any problems for KUOI. If this person's views are widely held, this may be exactly what I have been/am doing. So, if the mangement thinks it best for the station that my show not continue, I'll be happy to discontinue hosting it.
Best,
Tim Lohrmann
