Pat, et al,

In the link Pat has posted for our perusal the following claim/major premise is
made:

"Nowhere in the record of events made public so far is there a hint that
allegations of wrongdoing, once leveled, were ever brushed aside or not taken
with utmost seriousness by the military chain of command."

I must be living in a fantasy world or getting even more senile. I thought I
posted an article about the International Red Cross telling appropriate military
commanders about torture, abuse, and similar problems many months ago.

I thought several other postings, including an abbreviated timeline from CNN
showed the same thing.

Pat, did you read those postings? Do you think they are true or not?

If you are interested, I'll post links to the V 2020 archives which contain
these articles and others or you scan the V 2020 archives yourself.

The presence of the above quote in the article at issue, being a major premise
of the opinions expressed therein, invalidates the entire article in my
old-codger opinion.

Pat: I doubt that you and I will agree on many political, economic, social, or
religious issues. However, I hope that we can agree that the above quote goes
against the preponderance of clear and cogent evidence presented by many
diverse, reasonably reliable sources.

If you wish to defend President Bush, it would be more effective not to use
obviously false information as premises for justification.

Wayne
